On this page, I have an overview of most of my kit and equipment. Most of the links are affiliate links which means, if you choose to purchase an item, I may get a small commission.

Cameras

For now, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III is my primary cam.

Lenses

My „Always-On“ lens for the Canon is the Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2. I used the predecessor (G1) for around 5 years and the G2 is really much sharper. For me, there is no real difference to the Canon 2.8.

The Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 is my Long-Lens. Although it’s quite heavy, I like the the overall quality.

As ultra wide lens, I carry the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD.

I use the Sigma 35mm F1,4 DG HSM Art for low-light situations and Astro-photography as well.

If it’s come to Macro photography, the Tokina ATX 2,8/100 Pro D Macro AF is my equipment of choice.

Video gear

DJI Mavic Air 2 is my everyday drone due to it’s portability, long flight time and reliability.

Rollei Actioncam 560 Touch is the action cam of choice. Even it is clearly not the cutting edge cam, its pretty good for capturing easy to go timelapses.

Filter

Lee filters are always in my bags. The following filters are stored in the Lee Filters Field Pouch:

Storage

I think it is mandatory to have some good spare SD or CF cards spare in your bag. At home, I keep all my pictures and videos on a NAS from QNAP which is equipped with disks from Western Digital.

Computing

I really need a big screen that can be adjusted to my needs and has a 4k resolution. Thats why I use the LG 27GL850-B monitor for all my editing. Connected to the screen is a Apple Mac Book Pro.

Other equipment

As travel tripod I use the SIRUI T-2204X due to it’s low weight and sturdiness. If there is more space around, the Manfrotto 055XPRO3 is my „three legged thing“.

The tripod heads I use are: Sirui K-20X, Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO and the Manfrotto MA 410 Junior.

My two main backpacks are the Lowepro Vertex 300 AW and the Endurax Extra Large Backpack.

When I need more light, the Pixel M8 GN60 Flash Speedlite together with the Pixel KING PRO Wireless TTL Flash Trigger come in handy.

For some more comfort on sea-scapes (rocks etc.) I use water shoes.
